Israel Quilters’ Association: Traditional-Modern

Group Exhibition

Patchwork is a craft in which different small fabric pieces of various colours and size are sewn together into a larger creation. The origin of patchwork arose from a shortage of fabrics and the desire to recycle and make use of clothing that had gone out of use, mainly to sew quilts for warmth. Over the years, different patterns developed, initially using the same pattern in recurring designs. Today, there are creators in traditional quilting and those who create in a modern and artistic style, allowing the combination of fabrics, materials, and techniques as the artist's imagination sees fit.

In order to allow each of the members to express themselves, this year's exhibition theme is "Traditional – Modern."

We are proud to present the fruit of the efforts of the association's members who have pieced together quilts, with perfect stitches, connecting the old world to the new.
