Hannah Libman: Wonders of Nature
Using collage as her predominant medium, Hannah Libman (b. 1929, Germany; moved to the USA in 1936; immigrated to Israel in 2014) is inspired by the wealth of possibilities that can be achieved with textures, forms and shapes, utilizing an abundant supply of diverse materials.
Libman, who took courses at Hartford Art School and at the University of Connecticut, began to work seriously in art when she started doing collage. Her creativity was evident from early childhood, when she made her own paper dolls and dollhouses. Moved by the world around her and delighting in interpreting nature, she depicts places she has visited, landscapes she has seen, and everyday life. Her unique style is realistic, reflecting the vibrant New England landscapes and vistas from her life in America.
