Persia

The Israeli Andalusian Orchestra Ashdod

A voyage in time to the sources of Eastern music

Artistic director: Elad Levy
Featuring: Liraz Charhi (Israel) and Sahba Motallebi (Iran), Nissim Lugasi (Israel) and Reza Mohsenipour (Italy)

Ancient Persian music is the root of other East and Maghreb musical cultures. There, the first foundations were laid for the world of the maqam, which spread to other Eastern countries and the Arab world. For the first time on the stage of the Israeli Andalusian Orchestra, a unique concert brings together four leading artists of Persian music - from ancient to modern.

Sahba Motallebi, born in Iran, is a world-renowned Persian tar player who has performed alongside the giants of Persian music in recent decades. Reza Mohsenipour will meet on stage leading Israeli artists - Liraz Charhi, who has been renewing Persian vocal arts in recent years and is making an exciting international career, and Nissim Lugasi - a master of Persian singing, currently considered one of the leading voices in the field.
