When Effi decides to end her unhappy marriage to Boaz, her life turns hell. Her husband, a respected high-tech exec, refuses to give her a divorce. Effi, who has tried with all her might to part on nice terms, finds herself fighting for her freedom on two fronts: vis-a-vis the Judges of the Jewish Beit Din and her children. Time and time again, she tries to convince Boaz to forge a compromise, but to no avail. When Boaz succeeds in turning their entire community against her, Effie realizes that she must go to war. Will she be able to break free?
In Israel today, thousands of women who were refused a divorce from their husbands are fighting daily - for years on end - for the right to be free.
The play features Aya Korem's song "A Man's Wife."
