Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?
The Cameri Theatre
A drama by Edward Albee
Translation: Dori Parnes
Director: Irad Rubinstain
Cast: Efrat Ben-Zur, Micha Selektar, Tom Avni / Ofri Biterman, and Avigail Harari
George and Martha - one of the most infamous couples in theatre's history - invite a young lecturer and wife to their campus home for a nightcap. As the alcohol flows freely, the young and naïve couple finds itself trapped in the crossfire of a life-and-death quarrel between their hosts - a combat in which all is fair game, and no tactic is deemed too low. When dawn breaks upon the living room turned battlefield, no one will be the same person they were at the night's beginning.
This new version of the award-winning masterpiece served as the basis for the film starring Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton.
