By: Georges Bizet | Stage: Arena di Verona
Carmen, the opera with the Spanish/Gypsy spirit by French composer Georges Bizet, was an abject failure at its first staging. Three months later, Bizet died of a heart attack and did not get to see the extraordinary success of his work, considered one of the most glorious operas in the history of music.
The spectacular mammoth production on the most prominent opera stage in the world, the Arena di Verona amphitheater, brings the beloved opera to a new peak.
